Javier Mendoza Performed “Shining” Live at The Chapel 4/24/10

Last Saturday evening (4/24/10) I had the pleasure of recording Javier Mendoza and three other talented artists at The Chapel in St. Louis.  If you haven’t been to a music show at The Chapel yet you should really check it out.  The venue is relaxed, the people are great and the acoustics are fantastic.  They also host art shows and theater as well.

In addition to performing Shining solo, Javier and the band played 14 other incredible unplugged acoustic originals.  Javier is a genuine talent and after attending one live performance there is no doubt you will be coming back for more.

Javier Mendoza performed shining solo with his acoustic guitar.  Douglas Armstrong handled sound engineering on site at The Chapel and Laurent Torno III operated a 5D Mark II Camera.  You can find Laurent on his YouTube Channel.

I operated the main camera for this video and I recorded it in full 1080p HD on a Canon 5D Mark II with a EF 70-200mm f/2.8L lens at about 100mm f/5.0.  I edited the video and audio tracks for this performance in Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro which are both part of the Final Cut Studio suite.  The video was compressed and transcoded from Apple ProRes 422HG to H.264 720p using Apple Compressor in order to be displayed on the web.

For more information Javier and to get tickets for his next performance go to www.javiermendoza.com

Enjoy the video and I look forward to seeing you at a future show.  If you see me there be sure to introduce yourself.

I will be posting additional performances as I get them edited and produced.
